It is not enough to have written a good script and to have made a pretty good first film (Get Out) awarded the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2018 to achieve a second! The sad and heartbreaking proof with "Us", a pompous and stifling horror film, around the old theme of the doppelgänger returning to murder his human alter ego. At the antipodes of William Wilson of Edgar Allan Poe is bathed here in the hemoglobin series B Wes Craven or Tobe Hopper without the director even succeeds in giving a political sense (the wall with Mexico wanted by Trump?) To a flatly gore ending. To flee !

After "Get Out", Jordan Peele returns with "Us", a psychological and intense thriller.
I was totally caught by "Us", which I enjoyed much more than his first film. Everything is done to keep us in suspense from the first to the last second ... Whether it is by the sounds more and more powerful and oppressive, the movements of camera, Jordan Peele delivers here an excellent work at the level of ?? sound as visual. The photography is sublime and the BO is top, especially with this piece of Luniz "I Got 5 on It", which will haunt me a long time!
There is also humor, with jokes that bring down the tension for a moment ... Fortunately for my

It is a thriller, rather close to the horror film and the director Jordan Peele speaks to us of a deep reason that is to say the fear of the foreigner and the end of the American dream, that we'll see !
We are in the mid-80s in Santa Cruz, California and a family is walking in the park that borders the beach, the father just won a lot in canning and what he won will be a pretty trashy T-shirt for his very young daughter who will put it on, while playing a new fair game, his wife wants to go to the bathroom and she asks him to monitor the child, certainly he accepts but he is too engrossed in his game and the little girl goes to the beach with her love apple in her hand, she will then discover an ice gallery and enter and she will make a discovery, she discovers not his own reflection in an ice, but that of his back and when it turns on itself, we will hear the little girl utter a cry of horror. We return to our present day and the Wilson family arrives in a residence in Santa Cruz, there is Adelaide the mother accompanied by her husband Gabe and two children, the eldest Zora and the baby Jason who looks a little whacky. Just installed Gabe feels the need to go to the beach where he will meet a family of friends, the Tyler ...
Here is a film that in theory and methodology would be related to a story told by Stephen King, but with less subtlety. He will tell us about people, families in general, confronted with their doubles, knowing that they are rather aggressive. The scenario is constructed in such a way that one ends up understanding a certain number of things as the scenario unfolds. The scenes are quite violent and sometimes one wonders about the why of how until one decides that it is so crazy that it is really not worth to question. One will just put a good point for the conclusion which is pretty bluffing, although thinking back on it, we really wonder if we did not miss something on the way. The director for his part invokes very deep reasons, but frankly it looks at him. For my part, I found it quite long and I was bored.
